Tiger Woods hobbling is a sight we are familiar with. Whether it's winning that U.S. Open on one leg at Torrey Pines or having to bow out of a tournament because his back has given in. Again. Now? It gives us hope.

That's all we need with the big cat. Pictures emerged late last night of Woods, 45, alongside his girlfriend Erica Herman in Los Angeles. Those crutches that he posed with alongside man's best friend on Instagram only a few months ago? Gone. Now he can walk. He will be back.

Of course, images of Woods looking fitter and healthier as time passes will only be met with extreme joy. He's the reason why we play. Tiger Woods is golf and golf is Tiger Woods. He's due to host the upcoming Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas and, hopefully he lets us know exactly what's going on. Has he picked up a club? When?

How much longer can we go without a proper update? We already know the details of his car crash. Probably too much to the point where it is really invading his privacy. It was bad, really really bad and in truth he's lucky to get out alive just looking at those horrific images.

Justin Thomas, a friend and frequent visitor to Woods' home in Jupiter, Florida, spoke recently to the No Laying Up podcast. While he wouldn't give too much away, he conceded he thinks Woods will definitely try to play again, although he thinks the 82-time PGA Tour winner is unlikely to pursue golf properly unless he believes he can win again.

There's no point in him firing a bunch of mid 70s scores and then rocking up at Augusta National for the Masters, Thomas said. "He's just not that guy." GolfMagic even spoke at length to an osteopath to see if he believes Woods will make it back in April. His answer? He'd be astounded. But these images give golf fans belief.
