Graeme McDowell returns to winner's circle with PGA Tour win
Graeme McDowell captured his fourth PGA Tour title and first since 2015 with victory at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship in the Dominican Republic.
The Northern Irishman posted a final-round 69 to seal a narrow one-stroke triumph over American duo Chris Stroud and Mackenzie Hughes on 18-under
“This is big,” said McDowell, who moves from 257th to 133rd in the world rankings.
“This is big for those who stood by me the last few years because it’s been a rough few years. It’s been a grind. My whole family, my wife and kids at home.”
McDowell will need to continue to keep playing well over the coming months as he is not yet eligible for The Open on home turf at Royal Portrush this July.
