Golf fans react to JB Holmes painfully slow play at Honda Classic
With JB Holmes close to the top of the leaderboard, his name was once again trending on social media due to his slow play antics.
Golf fans have grilled JB Holmes on social media for his slow play antics during the Honda Classic, after he was paired with the PGA Tour's fastest player in Matt Jones.
You couldn't have had two players further away from each other on the speedometer on Sunday at PGA National, with Australian Jones who takes a matter of seconds to hit a shot and Holmes who is possibly the slowest golfer on the PGA Tour.
Some fans were concerned that Holmes' slow-play antics could have a negative effect on Jones, who was searching for his first victory in seven years, but it didn't stop the 40-year-old from getting the job done in the final round.
Holmes on the other hand had an absolute shocker on Sunday and some fans admitted on social media they enjoyed seeing him collapse, after he went from second on the leaderboard down to a tie for 46th after shooting a 9-over par final round of 79.
It's not the first time that Holmes' name has trended on social media and I'm sure it won't be the last, as whenever he is close to the top of the leaderboard he receives more air-time on TV and ends up infuriating golf fans due to his pace of play.
Jones played some phenomenal golf all week at PGA National and he capped his tournament off with a steady 2-under par final round to win by five strokes and his speedy style was praised by many.

As for Holmes, it's probably best he doesn't type his name in on Twitter, as he certainly wouldn't like what he sees.
Every time they cut to JB Holmes a different announcer roasts his pace of play. Absolutely love it. Running out of ways to say it!

Matt Jones deserves some sort of Nobel Prize after spending the last 17 years of his life waiting to finish the back nine with JB Holmes

The Earth's tectonic plates move by around five centimetres per year. That's still faster than JB Holmes plays golf.

JB Holmes absolutely refuses to pull a club or begin any sort of shot prep until it’s his turn to play. Good on Bones for calling him out on the broadcast.

JB Holmes needs someone following him around with a bullhorn.
