The countdown for next year’s 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon has officially begun, per an announcement from the R&A on Monday.
The R&A says they expect a high level of demand for next year’s tournament in Scotland. As a result, tickets will be allocated by a ballot to ensure a fair shot to secure tickets for the tournament, scheduled from 14-21 July 2024.
The ticket ballot will begin on 27 June and last until 25 July to give as many fans as possible a chance to register.
“The Open is a real highlight in the global sporting calendar which golf and sports fans everywhere look forward to enormously,” said Martin Slumbers, CEO of the R&A. “We have seen demand to attend the Championship rise each year and so continuing with the ticket ballot is the most effective means to ensure that as many fans as possible get a chance to secure their ticket.
The allocation of tickets will also be balanced out to make sure that people from all over the world and from all generations will have the opportunity to attend.
The 152nd Open will be played at Royal Troon in 2024.
