Two-time major champion John Daly has confirmed his family are safe after Hurricane Helene swept through Florida.
Two-time major champion John Daly has confirmed he is safe after Hurricane Helene battered Florida.
But he has suffered 'total loss and devastation' after his residence and the homes of his family were severely damaged overnight.
Helene brought 140mph winds and forced several states to declare a state of emergency.
One person was killed in Florida by a falling road sign and two people died in Georgia, the BBC reported.
More than 3m people across Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina are currently without power, according to ABC news.
Daly offered his 'prayers for all those in the path of the Big Bend' on 26 September.
After a treacherous night, he posted on Instagram: "For everyone that has reached out, my family are all safe but all our homes are not, as water is pouring out of every crevice.
Daly, who won the 1991 PGA Championship and The Open in 1995, added: "Total loss and devastation after living here all my life.
"I still cannot imagine all we have lost but we are safe and all can be replaced.
"Praise God."
Helene has now weakened to a tropical storm as it moves more inland, according to the US National Hurricane Center.
