Tiger Woods back in Top 10 Highest Paid Athletes
Forbes has released its Highest Paid Athletes 2020 list and Tiger Woods returns to the top 10 for the first time in five years.
During Tiger Woods' reign as the most dominant golfer on the planet, the big cat topped the Forbes Highest Paid Athletes list 11 times, more than any other athlete, having been top of the list in: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.
Since Woods slowed down his dominance in golf, other sports stars like Floyd Mayweather and Cristiano Ronaldo found themselves topping the Forbes list and this year it's tennis star Roger Federer who sits at No.1.
After winning The Masters in 2019 and adding another PGA Tour victory to his record-sharing number of 82, Woods has now returned to the top 10 in the Forbes Highest Paid Athletes list for the first time since 2015, sitting in 8th with $62.3 million.
The majority of Woods' earnings - $60 million to be precise - is through endorsement deals with huge brands like Nike and TaylorMade, whilst the remainder of his earnings have been through tournament winnings.
In the video graphic below from noobnorm.com, you can watch a timeline of the top 10 highest paid athletes from 1990 - 2020, which shows how long Woods held the No.1 spot for, before falling outside the top 10 in 2016.
