Myrtle Beach extends its golf course to crazy lengths!
Good luck playing this golf course off the tips!
Myrtle Beach has extended its world-famous golf course to more than 8,100 yards off the back tees!
The news come off the back of recent claims the modern day golf ball is set to rolled back by up to 50 yards in order to prevent golf courses constantly being lengthened.
The South Carolina golf mecca is setting up new elevated back tees at Eagle Nest Golf Club in the Myrtle's Little River district and it will become the first 8,000-yard course along the Grand Strand.
"The Grand Strand needs this, and Eagle Nest is a good place for it," said Rick Elliott, who owns the course along with his mother, Anne.
"It has created an opportunity for the professional golfer to play there, and I think we need that. At some point there's no reason we can't have a tournament in this area.
"Now all I need is Dustin Johnson to step on the first tee of the perch tee boxes and see what he can do with it."
Looking at the club's latest report, the par-3s are set to measure yardages of 283, 199, 248 and 266, which equates to an average of 250 yards!
The par-4s will average more than 470 yards, and the par-5s will average 626 yards!
Good luck if you ever get to play here, that's all we'll say...
