Haley Moore hits back at bullies after earning LPGA card for 2020

Haley Moore provided the perfect response to her childhood bullies by earning an LPGA Tour card for 2020 through the circuit's Q-Series. 

Moore, 20, was bullied countless times while in middle school due to her appearance.

Her mother Michele recently revealed in an interview with Golfweek how "boys were really cruel, especially because of her weight."

But after finishing tied 11th in the LPGA Q-Series tournament to lock up her playing privileges on the main circuit next year, Moore is now relishing the prospect of letting her golf continue to do the talking. 

"I really tried hard to block it [the bullying] out of my mind, just because I had a dream of playing golf for the rest of my life," said Moore, speaking to Golf Channel. 

"I just knew it was hard at first with all these comments, it really did downgrade myself and my physical activity of how I look, but I just got more support from my family to block it out and to just go out there and do what I've got to do."

Phil Mickelson was one of the first Tour pros to offer his congratulations to Moore on Twitter, something which took her by surprise. 

"The support from everyone has been incredible," said Moore. "To get a tweet from Phil was amazing. I had to do a double take."

For Moore, after everything she has faced in recent years, the new chapter in her life will soon begin and she cannot wait to get started.

"I dreamed of being on the LPGA Tour ever since I was a little girl, but to do it in my first year of trying at Q-School feels amazing," said Moore, after locking up her card for 2020. 

"It's a new journey, a new chapter and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes me," said Moore. 

"I will be travelling a lot more, which will be different to get used to, but learning from other professionals who have been longer out here than me will be great. 

"I want to improve my game as I know I won't make every cut out there, but it will be nice to see what I can do and hopefully go on to become one of the best players out there."
