Poulter and Miller at loggerheads
Two-time Major winner taunts European Ryder Cup star
Among the entire Lee Westwood will-he-won’t-he saga emerges a very funny story concerning a spat between Ian Poulter and Johnny Miller.
The former Open and US Open champion, now a leading television analyst in the States, described Europe’s Ryder Cup star as “not a very good shot maker”.
Poulter’s response? “Miller does talk such b*llocks at times.” The opinion of Ian James Poulter, kids.
This led to the Miller sending Poulter a cap with the words ‘Hit more greens!’
But maybe the analyst should have done some better analysing. “Choke on this, Johnny,” tweeted Poulter, linking to a table proving the 34-year-old to be number one in greens hit in regulation on the European Tour this term.
One nil to the Arsenal fan, but it looks to be the last match between the pair. “I’ve wasted more than enough time and energy on Johnny Miller,’ Poulter added.
But then there was a twist in the tale, as confirmation emerged it was actually Brad Faxon who sent the cap.
The world number 13 was quick to see the funny side, writing on his Twitter feed: “The visor was signed by Brad Faxon. Good work Brad, I love the joke.”
