New fitting Titleist and Cobra
fitting centre at Kings Acre near Edinburgh

In a pro active move to cater for a growing trend
within the golf
market, Acushnet has opened Titleist and Cobra National Fitting Centres
in Scotland and Ireland - at Kings Acre

Golf Club in Edinburgh and at
Carton House in Maynooth, County Kildare.

Acushnet,
which has its other fitting
centre at Brampton Park, near Huntingdon, says the new centres will
satisfy the combined demand for Titleist and Cobra fittings which has
increased by more than 35 per-cent in the UK and 150 per-cent in
Ireland over the past five years.

Golfers
can now make an appointment
through their local PGA professional at their nearest
Titleist
or
Cobra
stockist. A fitting technician will go through the full
fitting experience and spend 90 minutes analysing the player’s game
from tee to green. By using state-of-the-art launch monitor technology,
customers will discover which 'set composition' best suits their
physical needs and swing profile.

“The
introduction of the new centres
underlines our commitment to custom fitting and complements our network
of PGA qualified Titleist 'FittingWorks' and Cobra ‘Fit to Speed’
partners, " says Ken Graham, Titleist's sales director. "Given the
demand we've seen for custom fitted clubs in recent years, we're
confident these centres will be popular and help golfers of all
abilities to significantly improve their game.”
Each process will begin
with the driver where the analysis of the
launch angle, spin rate and shot dispersion enables technicians to
prescribe the correct head, loft and shaft specifications for each
individual golfer. With fairway woods and hybrids, the correct distance
gaps between the driver and irons will be correctly filled with clubs
that provide the optimal trajectory and control for their game.

The
objective
with fitting irons, says Acushnet, is to combine clubhead design and a
wide variety of shaft options to provide the ideal ball trajectory that
will elevate a golfer’s game to the next level. It's complemented by a
thorough wedge fitting session, when the technicians examine the angle
of attack and favoured shots from 100 yards out.

New
products
available at the fitting centres include the new Titleist AP1 and AP2
dual cavity iron models and high performance ZM or ZB irons, fitted
using the revolutionary FittingWorks Surefit system, which provides up
to 420 different shaft and head combinations.

Cobra
equipment
available includes King Cobra Speed LD drivers and fairway metals, L4V
driver, the market leading King Cobra Baffler utility metals, and a
choice of irons from the S9 and FP models to the Pro CB irons developed
for the better player.
