Adams to launch two new drivers
Speedline Fast 12 models to suit wide range of golfers
Adams Golf is producing two new clubs in a bid to capture a bigger slice of the burgeoning driver market.
As well as its latest Speedline Fast 12 driver, which the company describes as its 'longest and most forgiving yet', Adams is introducing the Speedline Fast 12 Low-spin (LS) driver, combining aerodynamic technology with adjustability for the more advanced player.
Both clubs will be available in March with a recommended selling prices of £249 and £349 respectively.
With its new airfoil design, the 460-cc Speedline Fast 12 driver generates 14 per-cent less drag and an increase in clubhead speed of three mph more than its predecessors, says Adams. It has also been created to provide similar forgiveness to the square drivers of a couple of years ago without the perceived lack of length that ultimately held them back.
“The Speedline Fast 12 driver is a significant technological step forward in the quest for a high MOI driver that's both forgiving and provides the speed of modern aerodynamic designs,” says Adams director of advanced development Scott Burnett.
Main feature of the new Speedline Fast 12 LS driver is its adjustability. Through its hosel design a golfer can adjust loft and face angle, lie, and length. A removable weight in the back of the clubhead also enables adjustment of weight when the club is lengthened to maintain the same swingweight. Adding a half inch in length can increase ball speed, launch angle and carry.
The Speedline Fast 12 driver is available in 8.5-, 9.5- and 10.5-degree lofts (also 10.5-degree draw model) for right-handers and 9.5 and 10.5 for left-handers. A right-handed women's model is made in 12-degree and high loft.
The Speedline Fast 12 LS driver is available for right-handers in 9.5- and 10.5-degree versions for right and left-handers (and 8.5 for RH only). Both drivers have contrasting black face and satin-silver crown to make them more alignment and user friendly.
FOOTNOTE: Former Ryder Cup player and US Masters runner-up Kenny Perry, will be using Adams equipment in his quest to dominate the US Champions Tour. He will use the Adams Speedline driver and fairway woods along with Adams Idea hybrids and irons.
