LIV Golf exec: "Every big name on the PGA Tour will get an offer"
Every big name on the PGA Tour will reportedly get a LIV Golf offer, according to one exec.
Every big name on the PGA Tour will get an offer to join LIV Golf, according to one LIV executive.
The executive was quoted in golf journalist and biographer Alan Shipnuck's excerpt from his upcoming book "LIV and Let Die." The excerpt was posted to the Fire Pit Collective website on Thursday.
The excerpt of the book comes just a few days after the PGA Tour announced that, along with the DP World Tour, it would be joining forces with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
The PIF notably provides the financial backing for LIV Golf.
The decision came as a shock to many in the golf world, after a year of lawsuits between the tours and the the rival circuit.
However, according to Shipnuck's excerpt from Thursday, all the top PGA Tour stars will be offered to join the league at some point.
The exec was quoted in Shipnuck's book saying:
Rory McIlroy has long been outspoken against LIV Golf and stayed loyal to the PGA Tour as he watched many of his peers join the rival league.
On Wednesday, while speaking to the press, McIlroy told reporters that he only found out about the news on Tuesday morning. He also admitted to now feeling like a "sacrificial lamb" throughout the PGA Tour-LIV saga.
