Bryson DeChambeau wants "big things" for Crushers franchise on LIV Golf Tour
Anirban Lahiri is the latest recruit to Crushers GC on the LIV Golf Series and he has spoken of the big plans that Bryson DeChambeau has for the franchise.
Bryson DeChambeau wants to do "big things" with the Crushers GC team franchise according to new LIV Golf recruit Anirban Lahiri.
It is assumed that each LIV Golf team will become a franchise in due course such as what we see in American football and basketball. DeChambeau and Lahiri are on the team with Paul Casey and Charles Howell III.
Lahiri is one of the new crop of international players who have joined the Saudi-backed series and as much as the large pots of money are key reasons for each move, the Indian player is excited about what he can achieve for his country.
Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann and Marc Leishman are all international players to join LIV and much like Lahiri, they have thrown away their chances of playing in the Presidents Cup.
The 35-year-old was intrigued by DeChambeau's plans over a dinner he had with the former US Open champion and the rest of team Crushers, their caddies and agents.
"Bryson is very, very invested in his team. He wants to do some big things with the franchise," Lahiri said to the media near Boston on Wednesday.

"He has some really good ideas. He was talking to all of us about what our ideas are, what we would like to do, what I would like to do in my region, and what Paul would like to see happen - but what are the things that we would like to affect in our lifetimes.
"Everybody talks about legacy, legacy, legacy; there is an opportunity to have a legacy with a team franchise. Didn't exist but it does now. The same thing happened with IPL in India. It didn't exist 15 years ago and it does now. It's now one of the most valued leagues in the world.
"He definitely is interested and he gets it and he understands it. He enjoys the fact that he has more elbow room to do what he would like to do than before, and if I can contribute both on and off the golf course, contribute to the Crushers, obviously playing good golf, that's the first objective.
"And down the road in the long run, you know, if I can be a part of bringing growth, development in my region or any region, golf, I don't care. We have all benefitted from golf and we can give back in different ways. Bryson sees the franchise and the team as a great opportunity or source to do that."
It is no surprise that DeChambeau has such a strong interest in the franchise/team element of LIV Golf. Since becoming one of the most recognisable figures in the game, he has associated himself with passionate people from other walks of life who have likely rubbed off on him.
From playing in The Match with Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady of the NFL to firing bombs with Martin Borgmeier and Kyle Berkshire from Long Drive, the LIV Golf Tour seems to have released the bundle of energy that is Bryson DeChambeau.
