If you’re looking for a pre-season opportunity to hone your game before the summer begins, the Your Golf Challenge’s pairs event in Tenerife could be just the destination.

The tournament, from April 25 to May 2 is played on four of the island’s terrific courses including Golf del Sur and Amarilla which have both hosted European Tour events.

The other two destinations, in the heart of the island – Golf de Las Americas, designed by John Jacobs, and Costa Adeje are also soon to host major pro Tour events.

After three qualifying rounds, the final will be played at Golf Del Sur, where the volcanic ash dominates the landscape and encourages the bunkers to glisten like black jewels.

A major improvement to this year’s event is the introduction of the Ping Custom Fit demo team who will be on the range throughout the tournament offering competitors the chance to sample the new Ping Si3 driver and other award-winning products.

Already than 380 golfers have entered the tournament and, with a maximum of 404 places available, this is the last chance to be certain of claiming a place on the flight on April 25.

The Better Ball Pairs Tournament (with official handicaps) guarantees four rounds of golf, including one practice round and three qualifying rounds. The competitors will play one round on each of the four courses, with the leading 25% of the pairs qualifying for the final at Golf del Sur. Competitors can enter as pairs or as singles to be paired by the organisers.

The cost of the trip, including return flights, seven nights accommodation, a minimum of four rounds of golf and car hire, is £499.
