Cleveland then unveiled the CG14 wedge with a distinctive yellow insert in 2009, featuring a lightweight, vibration-dampening material that removed unwanted vibration on mis-hits.

Laser Milled technology then formed the basis of the CG15 wedges in 2010, with four perfectly calibrated texture lines placed between each traditional groove to allow for more precise and consistent surface roughness.

This breakthrough surface texture optimised ball-to-face friction and maximised allowable spin under the Rules of Golf.

Cleveland then expanded the range with the CG16 in 2011, featuring a hint of offset for added forgiveness, as well as a new Reverse C Sole with constant width from heel to toe. Added width on the sole, says Cleveland, prevents digging, providing more consistent contact on bunker shots.

The 588 wedge returned last season as Cleveland Golf’s first forged wedge offering. 

Cleveland says its advanced Precision Forging process ensures the highest level of manufacturing quality for supreme confidence and trust.

The 588 Forged Wedge also features Zip Grooves and a laser milled face, as well as unpainted U-grooves for increased spin. The bright chrome also contributes to a long-lasting durable finish.

And now for the brand new 588 RTX, launched on November 16, 2012.

The 588 RTX CB wedges combine the legendary performance of 588 with added forgiveness and breakthrough Rotex Face - Cleveland’s most advanced spin technology ever.

The new wedge, also available in a Tour option and ladies model, also features 16% larger grooves for cleaner contact at impact and enhanced laser milling for more durability and surface roughness.
