In 2018, the SM7 is designed to enhance progressive centre of gravity, while also offering increased control thanks to tighter grooves, and more fitting options thanks to a new D grind.

Just what you would expect from Titleist - traditional, understated and beautiful. A classic wedge design that golfers will love.

Four stunning finishes available - chrome, brushed steel, raw and black. The coloured finishes also have excellent levels of durability, unlike the paint used by some other brands.

Hit back-to-back with the SM6 we noticed the feel is slightly more crisp. It’s a pure, full feel.

We tried out every grind and bounce option on full, pitch and chip shots, which nailed home the importance of getting fit.

The difference between the options is staggering. Get the wrong bounce or grind, and you will have to work a lot harder to get a good strike. However, once you have the right specs in hand, the club seems to do the work for you. I’ve never felt so confident over a chip, and felt able to control both flight and spin spectacularly (not something I’m used to!).

When it comes to controlling flight, the SM7 is 10/10. Thanks to the improved progressive centre of gravity, we felt in complete of the golf ball.  

We also saw an increase in spin, particularly on full and pitch shots. We were getting high levels of spin when we wanted to, and were also able to take it off when required.

A definite improvement on the SM6. Great control on offer, and the amount of grinds on offer allows for a world class fitting.

While the performance increase is not as seismic as the step from SM5 to SM6 - that was always going to be tough to replicate - we think it’s comfortably enough to tempt many to shell out and make the switch.
