Release Radar: Five brands doing things a little different
Takomo Golf
Based in Finland, Takomo Golf is a direct-to-consumer brand that produces outstanding golf clubs at a fraction of the price of more established manufacturers.
Utilising high-quality materials, Takomo has designed a beautiful array of irons, woods and wedges that feature clean and simple aesthetics while still delivering superb performance.
We had the pleasure of testing out three models of Takomo irons, and we were incredibly impressed by the performance and level of quality on offer.
There is often scepticism about buying irons without a fitting; however, we're here to reassure you that you get more than what you pay for with this brand.
In a cost-of-living crisis, spending big bucks on a set of golf clubs can seem like a difficult decision. However, Thanks to Takomo and several other high-quality direct-to-consumer brands, that decision has become a little less painful.
So, if you want to upgrade your clubs this winter but don't want to break the bank, Takomo is undoubtedly worth your consideration.

Clamp Golf Co
Handcrafted one by one in-house, Clamp Golf head covers are the creme de la creme of golf accessories.
Based in Yorkshire, England, Clamp Golf Co. makes bespoke head covers that feature an array of different designs constructed from a wide range of materials, including leather, tweed, and faux leather.
Each cover is lined with a fleece inner and sewn together with a strong bonded nylon thread.
A wide variety of designs are available to purchase, but one of our favourites is undoubtedly the 'remove before flight' set, which is available in a variety of colour options.
If you like to customise your golf bag, and add a little bit of creativity, then a set of Clamp head covers could be just what you need.
Public Drip
Founded in 2020, Public Drip is based in Brooklyn, New York, and is inspired by "an affection for traditional menswear form, and the design and function of progressive sportswear."
The brand produces high-quality garments and accessories that are influenced by accessibility to public spaces.
Public Drip's full range features some outstanding pieces that blur the lines beautifully between modern streetwear and classic country club aesthetics.
From cord shorts to classic baseball caps, this brand has everything you could need to elevate your on-course style.
A few of our favourite pieces include the GC Hat in Forest Green and French Terry Cardigan.
Sounder
Established by Cathal McAteer and James Day, the creative minds behind Folk Clothing and Top Golf, the indoor golf venue, Sounder produces stylish, functional and hard-wearing clothing - ideal for both on and off the course.
From socks to golf bags, Sounder has a wide range of products and has also produced some excellent collaborations with Random Golf Club and Grenson Golf Shoes.
Our favourite piece from the current collection is undoubtedly the Himalayas Overhead Gilet, which is available in Oat (Pictured), Deep Navy and Grey.
Constructed from lightweight Italian Polar Fleece and featuring deep pockets on the chest and rear, this gilet is an ideal outer layer for winter golf, and we would be just as happy wearing it down the pub as we would on the course.
Future Golf Club
Future Golf Club is a progressive golf brand that is bringing a galactic twist to golf apparel. The brand is committed to disrupting the golf wear scene to provide high quality clothing to golfers of all backgrounds and skill levels.
The brand also donates 10% of all its profits to support youth golf projects, which is a statement that we can really get behind.
Future Golf Club's designs clearly take inspiration from modern streetwear, with oversized acid-wash garments being some of the more recognisable products in the collection.
One of our favourite pieces is the FGCxAGC Collaboration Limited Edition t-shirt (Pictured), which has seen Future Golf Club team up with Amateur Golf Collective, one of the best and brightest independent golf clothing shops on the scene.
