Could this big equipment change (!) help Rickie Fowler reignite his PGA Tour career?
Popular PGA Tour pro Rickie Fowler was spotted tinkering with a few putters before teeing it up in the 2024 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village.
Rickie Fowler was spotted testing two new putters with one day to go before the Memorial Tournament begins at Muirfield Village.
Fowler, 35, was once one of the brightest young talents on the PGA Tour but has struggled to recreate that form in recent years.
While he managed to break his four-year winless streak at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2023, he has found it difficult to replicate that success in 2024, struggling to secure a spot in the winner's circle.
Fowler famously relied on an Odyssey Jailbird Versa for his win in Detroit, but he was recently spotted testing two new putters during a practice session at Muirfield Village.
The popular American has had a poor season by his own high standards, and his putting has been a big part of that.
Fowler is currently ranked 129th in Strokes Gained putting on the PGA Tour.
For context, he was ranked 48th in 2023 and 13th in 2018 when he was in his prime.
So, which putters has Fowler been testing ahead of the Memorial Tournament this week?
He has been spotted trialling two new flat sticks: a Scotty Cameron T5.5 Proto mallet, and a custom LAB blade.

The six-time PGA Tour winner has also recently used a new Odyssey Jailbird 380 in a standard-length 35-inch shaft.
His previous putter, the Odyssey Jailbird Versa, had a unique 38-inch length shaft with a counterbalance grip.
Fowler is yet to record a top-10 finish on the PGA Tour this season, with his best finish coming at the RBC Heritage where he came tied for 18th.
It remains to be seen which putter he will use during tomorrow's first round at Muirfield Village, but if he can get his putter hot, he's undoubtedly got the game to improve on his best result of 2024.
