Volvik V1 Rangefinder Review
Volvik proves it is much more than just a golf ball brand...
Volvik might be best known for its high performance, brightly coloured golf balls, but you can now throw golf laser rangefinders into the mix.

There might already be some stiff competition in the golf GPS market in 2020, especially when it comes to unleashing the latest pin-seeking technology, but Volvik has made an exceptional start with its entry-level V1 Rangefinder.
The first things to note are that it's incredibly sleek, very light at just 125 grams, and that it's packed full of features that will appeal to just about every golfing ability.
We also found it charged up nice and quickly before heading to the course.
The presentation of the product was first class. Included with the product is a CR2 Lithium battery, a durable zipped carry case with carabiner for bag attachment and a cleaning cloth.
It has the makings of something special before you have even started to play.
Easy to set up out the box, we also instantly noted its large eyepiece and high-quality 6x magnification viewer that ensured a clear image of the green.
One of the best features is its Pin Finder function to ensure precise yardages - and NOT that tree hiding behind the flag in the background.
This device is capable of calculating distances from five up to 1200 yards to within one yard, so its deadly accurate, and that was evident during our round of golf where we found 13 of our 18 greens in regulation.
We also like the V1's clever Slope Compensation mode that takes into account elevation changes to provide precise distances from every location.
Another useful feature is its Priority First Goal that allows the golfer to quickly measure the distance to their desired object, such as a bunker. The distance is measured in either yards or metres and is confirmed by a vibration once detected.
VERDICT
A new golf laser rangefinder that will have the more established brands in this market looking over their shoulder.
Sleek, easy to use, accurate and packed with all the bells and whistles you could ask for.
One of the best value-for-money lasers right now at £199.
It comes available in black, which we tested out, and also in orange and mint colours to cater for personal preferences.
