Rickie Fowler causes a stir on social media with new Hawaiian attire
Fowler wears interesting pineapple-inspired Puma Golf outfit at Tournament of Champions.
Rickie Fowler has never been one to shy away from making a fashion statement on the golf course, and his practice round at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii on Wednesday proved no different.
Fowler was seen wearing an untucked pineapple-inspired Puma Golf shirt with matching shorts.
As you can imagine, it sent golf fans into a meltdown on social media.
Some loved it, others weren't quite so sure.
Here's a look at a selection of comments...
"If the golf doesn't work out, modelling will," said one golf fan.
Another said: "Didn't know you could golf in your PJs?!"
"Surprised Mercedes let him put their logo on his jammies," commented another golf fan.
One golf fan called for more shorts to be worn on Tour: "Can we please let Tour players wear shorts? I would love to get a peek at Phil's tasty calves on a weekly basis."
"Wait, is that a romper?!" wrote another golf fan.
Puma Golf claims: "The full button woven golf shirt arrives as a limited edition style from the PUMA Golf "Island Time" Collection - celebrating this year's Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. We always look forward to this PGA Tour event which kicks off the calendar year - with Rickie Fowler scripted to wear this particular style during the tournament Maui."
Golf Poser writes: "As for the shirt itself, PUMA Golf have knocked it out the park once again. We love the all over Pineapple print which Rickie Fowler has become synonymous with in recent years - perfectly finished in this "Dark Denim" navy colour for super chilled Hawaiian vibes.
"The double knit fabric is extremely comfortable to wear with added four way stretch for freedom of movement, while the lightweight and breathable nature of the fabric leaves you feeling cool, dry and comfortable on the inside.
"Designed with a curved hem which can be worn either tucked or untucked, we think this is a simply outstanding button up style which will really make a statement for PUMA Golf and Rickie Fowler in 2020."
