Rasmus Højgaard celebrates homecoming win with Callaway
Playoff heroics see hometown hero Rasmus Højgaard claim his fourth DP World Tour title at Made in Himmerland.
Denmark's Rasmus Højgaard sealed victory on native soil after a gruelling six-hole playoff saw him claim a historic victory in front of an excited home crowd.
Højgaard, 22, shot rounds of 65 and 64 on the weekend to finish tied in 1st place with Spain's Nacho Elvira at the end of regulation play. The two Callaway staffers then went head-to-head in a six-hole playoff with Højgaard emerging as the victor with pars on all six holes.
His victory marked the first time a Danish player has won the Made in Himmerland, and you could see what the win meant to him as the final putt dropped. A perfect day for the Dane was capped off with a lovely winner's cheque worth €507,458.

The 22-year-olds victory also marked the 10th win on the DP World Tour for Callaway's Paradym driver, making it Callaway's most successful Driver introduction on tour ever.
After trailing the leader by six shots on the final day, he put together a fantastic six-under-par 64 to force the playoff, with his Callaway JAWS Raw wedges proving to be the perfect tools to set up a number of good birdie opportunities.
The long hitter also put his Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond driver to good use splitting the fairway beautifully on the final playoff hole, with his Odyssey Toulon Le Mans Tour putter backing it up on the green to hole the winning putt.
Højgaard has jumped up the world rankings with his win, now sitting at 85th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Although still an outside bet to make the European Ryder Cup team, you can be sure Luke Donald will have taken notice of the 22-year-olds composure in the six-hole playoff.
