Summary: Benross Golf Quad Speed has been designed to harness the same stability technology used in the Quad Speed drivers. Split dual crowns are coupled with a wide modern footprint to lower and deepen the centre of gravity so golfers can be sure of powering shots out of any lie.
Appearance: Large, wide modern footprint inspires confidence and houses a low, deep centre of gravity for better launch. Always a fan of seeing a white clubhead - although saying that it’s not ideal in the sunshine - but this one is a little too bulky. Perfect for the game improver but not for me. 6
Feel: Aldila Voodoo shaft was a new one for me but felt stable enough for my fast swing speed, and no doubt light enough to suit slower swingers. We didn’t like the tinny sound at impact much. 7
Performance: Solid performance and packs a punch for such a budget fairway wood. Down the bottom end for distance but straight enough to get your money’s worth. 7
Verdict: Clubhead is a little unusual with its sweeping curved indent around the back of the clubhead. Solid enough off the face but tinny impact sound offered little feedback. 20
Pro Verdict: Far too bulky for me but that will be perfect for the game improver. The slightly recessed crown at the back of the clubhead frames the ball nicely and makes the club look a little more compact than it really is. Lacks fire off the face and sound is unflattering.
