Step 2: Aim club face
Aim the club face between where your body is aiming and the target.
The club face has the biggest influence on the starting direction.
You will find that shorter irons will need to be aimed closer to the target rather than body direction, as the backspin imparted on the ball will try and swamp the effects of the side spin you you are trying to create.

Definitely practice this on the range before attempting it first time on the course, though!
