Rahm +3, Fowler +1, Young -1 (7)
Rahm, Fowler and Young all make birdies on the par-five 7th hole.
Rahm can breathe a sigh of relief, but he'll need to dig deep if he wants to be competing come Sunday evening.

That's three birdies in a row for Collin Morikawa.
After a shaky start, the two-time major champion is starting to get hot.
Fitzpatrick +1, Morikawa E, Mickelson +2 (7)
Matt Fitzpatrick does some handy repair work to his scorecard with an eagle on the 7th hole.
He's still over par for the day but certainly moving in the right direction now.

Mickelson also make a a birdie to get back to +2.
Scheffler +4 (6)
We've not seen any outbursts yet from Rahm, but they can't be far away.
The Spaniard drops another shot after a misjudged approach shot on the par-five 6th, and he looks furious with himself.
Looks like he's left his game on the LIV Golf Tour.
Scheffler -2 (5)
Scheffler makes his first unforced error, dropping a shot on the fifth hole after his par putt slides by the hole.
Turns out he can make mistakes.
Rahm +3 (5)
Three bogeys in his first five holes have put Jon Rahm in a challenging position.
The Spaniard won't be happy with how things are going out there.
He will have to produce some vintage stuff to get near the top of the leaderboard.
Scheffler -3 (4)
Scottie Scheffler holes a lovely putt on the 4th hole to move to three-under for the day.
His playing partners aren't finding it quite as easy.
Clark is level par, while Harman sits at one over.
Molinari -1 (4*)
This time, Francesco Molinari holes out from the fairway for an eagle on the 13th hole to move to one-under.
Balls are going in from everywhere today.
Scheffler -2 (1)
That was just sublime. From 169 yards, Scheffler holes out for an eagle on the 1st hole.
My word, this man is special.
Clearly no rust from his week away from the course.
Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman get their opening round underway.
Scheffler unsurprisingly finds the fairway with his drive.
How low can he go today?

If there's one man who loves a bit of US PGA golf, it's Brooks Koepka.
The three-time winner picks up three shots in two holes with an eagle, birdie double punch on 16 and 17.
He's hot on McIlroy and Schauffele's heels.
McIlroy -5 (F)
McIlroy continues his fine form with an impressive five-under 66 to get his US PGA Championship off to a great start.
Woods +1 (18)
Back-to-back three-putt bogeys leave Woods +1 at the end of his first round.
He will be gutted with how it ended, but it's still a tremendous effort from the 15-time major champion, considering his lack of playing time recently.
Schauffele -9 (F)
Xander Schauffele taps in for par on the 18th to shoot a nine-under 62, equalling the lowest-ever round in major championship history.
It's also the first time a round of 62 has ever been carded at the PGA Championship.
Schauffele is now the first player to shoot multiple rounds of 62 in majors.
What a day for the American. Can he go on to win his first-ever major? He's certainly made a good start.
