PGA Championship Final Round: LIVE updates and scores

Welcome to live scores, updates and commentary from the final round of the US PGA Championship at Valhalla.

Xander Schauffele has captured his maiden major title with victory at the 2024 US PGA Championship at Valhalla.

Schauffele, 30, poured home a birdie putt from six feet on the par-5 18th to seal a narrow one-shot victory over LIV Golf's Bryson DeChambeau.

The World No.3 closed with a gutsy round of 6-under 65 to finish the week on 21-under par, which marks the lowest winning score to par in a major championship.

The previous low winning score at a major was 20-under par (2015 US PGA, 2016 Open, 2020 Masters, 2022 Open).

Schauffele also joins a list of 10 players to go wire-to-wire at a major championship.

The win marks Schauffele's first major title and the eighth of his PGA Tour career.

Schauffele makes a complete hash of the par-5 10th and it leads to a bogey-six on statistically the easiest hole at Valhalla. It means he's now tied with Hovland on 18-under par. Morikawa is having a final round to forget with 10 pars in a row and he finds himself three back.

22:03

Don't rule out Rose just yet

We've not heard from Rose much today but he's making a late surge with three consecutive birdies at 9, 10 and 11. The Englishman is now up to 15-under par and just three back of Schauffele.

21:39
Birdies for Bryson and Viktor

DeChambeau and Hovland both make simple birdies at the par-5 10th to move to 17-under par and just one behind Schauffele, who is heading down the 9th.

21:28
Scheffler signs for a 65

It's a disappointing par at the par-5 18th for Scheffler (-13) but the World No.1 closes out with a 6-under 65. It might be good enough for a top 10, we'll have to wait and see.

21:26
Big par save for Bryson

After going long in the deep stuff, DeChambeau chips his ball down to 10 feet and duly converts the par save. A massive momentum putt for the LIV Golf star, who finds himself two shots back heading into the back nine. Hovland makes par to sit alongside him.

21:25
Bogey for Lowry at 8

It's a very sloppy bogey for Lowry at the par-3 8th. The Irishman lips out from short range. It sends him back to 14-under par and four back.

21:22
Huge birdie for Schauffele at 7

Schauffele gets up and down from sand for birdie at the par-5 7th. The American drills home the 12 footer to move two shots ahead once again on 18-under par. Morikawa's birdie putt from six feet lips out on the left side. He now finds himself three back.

21:04
Big par save for Schauffele

It's a huge par saver for Schauffele at the 6th. After coming up short of the pin with his putt from off the green, the American buries the 13-footer for par to remain one shot ahead.

21:01
Hovland birdies the 7th

Hovland moves to within a shot of the lead after pouring home a birdie from 20 feet at the par-5 7th. It's just a par for DeChambeau though. Both players are 16-under par and one behind Schauffele.

Another birdie for Scheffler!
Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler

What a finish from Scheffler. He drains another putt from 16 feet at the tough par-4 16th to move to 13-under par. It's all too late for the World No.1 to win but he's putting on a show for the fans.

20:43
Water for Rory!

McIlroy goes long at the 12th and finds the water.

It leads to a bogey and he falls back to 10-under par.

20:41
Bryson chips in for birdie!
Bryson DeChambeau
Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau hits the shot of the day so far with a stunning chip-in birdie at the 6th.

It moves the LIV Golf star to 16-under par and just one shot back of Schauffele.

Hovland, playing alongside DeChambeau, also makes birdie from six feet.

The European Ryder Cup hero joins the group at 15-under par.

20:39
Scheffler drains another

Scheffler is leaving this far too late, but what a finish from the World No.1.

He drains another birdie from 16 feet at the 15th to move it to 12-under par.

A whirlwind week for Scheffler.

Bogey for Theegala

Theegala hits a shocker of a drive way left off the 5th and he then compounds the mistake by going long into the deep stuff out the back door. He then duffs his chip short of the green and it leads to a bogey. Theegala falls back into the pack on 13-under par. That's four back of Schauffele now.

20:29
Schauffele moves two ahead

Schauffele plays a brilliant chip from the deep rough at the short par-4 4th and then converts the four-footer for birdie to move two shots clear on 17-under par.

20:23
Birdies for Hovland and DeChambeau at 5

Hovland drills a birdie home from 30 feet on the 5th, and DeChambeau follows him in from five feet. Birdies all round. Hovland moves to 14-under par and DeChambeau to 15-under par.

20:16
Lowry clatters the pin for eagle

Lowry hits the flag with his second shot to the short par-4 4th and it's a tap-in birdie for the Irishman.

He moves to 15-under par and just one shot back of Schauffele.

20:15
Scheffler finishing well

It's not going to be Scottie Scheffler's week but the World No.1 is rallying late in the day.

Scheffler drains a birdie on the 13th to move it to 4-under for the round and to 11-under par for the tournament.
