He fatted his iron shot into the green and then went long with his third.
Aberg now shares the lead with Finau and Pavon.
DeChambeau also makes bogey, failing to get up and down from the right of the green.

It's a disappointing par for McIlroy on the par-5 5th.
He found the waste area right of the green and then splashed out to 12 feet.
But he could not convert the putt.

Pavon two-putts for birdie on the par-5 5th. He's now solo second on 5-under par. A brilliant week for the Frenchman so far.

After sending his tee short and right in the sand, Hatton comes up well short with his second shot and then two-putts for a bogey.

Aberg drops a birdie bomb from 30 feet at the short par-4 3rd.
DeChambeau then misses a three-footer for birdie, but he converts the par save.
Aberg now leads by two.

LIV Golf's Hatton pours home an eagle from 15 feet to vault into a tie for second place on 4-under par.

Rory gets up and down from the bunker to register his first birdie of the day.
He moves to within one.

An awful start for the penultimate pairing of the day as Cantlay and Detry both make early bogeys.
Finau -4 (2)
Finau pours home a birdie from 12 feet at the 2nd to move into a share of second place on 4-under par.
McIlroy -3 (1)
McIlroy came up short of the hole with his birdie attempt and was left with a 12-footer for par.
But he curled it home on the left side to keep himself firmly in the mix at 3-under par.
Hatton -2 (2)
Tyrrell Hatton opens his account with a birdie from 15 feet at the par-4 2nd.
A nice start for the Englishman.
Conners -2 (3)
After a bogey start for Conners, he makes a par at 2 and then drives the green at the par-4 3rd before draining the eagle putt to move into the red.
Pavon -4 (1)
Pavon sends a wedge into five feet and then converts the birdie putt.
It moves the Frenchman into a tie for second on 4-under par.
Morikawa Par (F)
Morikawa pours home a fourth birdie of the day from 20 feet at the par-4 18th and it all adds up to a fantastic round of 4-under 66.
It hauls the two-time major champion up to T16 and you would have to feel he may end up in the top 10 by the end of the day.
He's right back in it at just five shots behind with the leading groups now heading out onto the course.

Aaron Rai drains a 30-footer for birdie on the 13th to move it to 2-under par for the round and to 1-over for the tournament. A very solid day so far for the Englishman.
Shipley +2 (13)
Shipley comes up short of the green at 13 and then makes a mess of things around the green.
A double goes down on the card and he's back to 1-under par for the round.
Scheffler +6 (F)
It's a closing par for Scheffler, who ends the day with a 1-over 71.
For the first time as a professional, Scheffler has now shot four consecutive rounds over par.
The World No.1 is 11 shots off the pace after his third round of the US Open.
Errant tee shots and poor putting have plagued Scheffler the past three days at Pinehurst.
A rare poor week for Scheffler, who admited ahead of the third round that he was not best prepared.
Morikawa +1 (13)
Collin Morikawa is putting in some performance on day three.
He's just sent home a 10-footer for birdie at the par-4 13th to move to 3-under par for the round.
It brings the two-time major champion back to 1-over par and just six back.
Morikawa has the lowest round of the day going right now.

The ball was travelling but caught the back of the hole and saw darkness.
It moves Morikawa to 2-under par for the round, which is the joint lowest score on the course right now.
