Cantlay -4 (10)
Brilliant stuff from Cantlay.
His tee shot at the 10th ends up in the thick stuff.
He has a line to the green but can't stop his golf ball and it races off the back of the green.
Somehow he gets up and down.

Finau -2, Aberg -5, Johnson +10 (9)
What a meltdown from DJ.
The LIV man finds the bunker at the par-3 ninth.
Or so he thought.
His ball flies out of the trap and off the back of the green.
From there, DJ needs two to get his ball onto the green.
He sets up a 20-footer for double, but misses.
A triple bogey for Johnson and his score is now 10-over.
His playing partners make pars.
Woods +5, Zalatoris +6, Fitzpatrick +4 (9)
Tiger goes for the par-5 10th in two hits.
He smashes his second 312 yards into the native area and finds a dodgy lie.
The 48-year-old jabs the ball onto the green and escapes with a par.
Before he did so, Fitzpatrick drained a long birdie putt.
My word, he needed that.
Koepka E (9)
The five-time major champ has only made one bogey today, which came at the par-4 14th.
Other than that, he's had seven pars.
Until now.
Koepka holes out with his third at the 18th to turn in level par.
Cantlay -4 (9)
The American has generally been very comfortable today until that double bogey at the eighth hole.
Can he respond with a bounceback birdie?
Nope.
But it's a par though.
Aberg -5 (8)
After finding the deep stuff off the tee and then coming up short with his third, Aberg drops a shot to fall back to 5-under par.
He's now just one ahead of DeChambeau, Detry, Cantlay and Pavon.
Ludvig Aberg | -6 (7) |

Thomas Detry | -4 (67) |
Patrick Cantlay | -4 (8) |
Matthieu Pavon | -4 (6*) |
Rory McIlroy | -3 (72) |
Pavon -4 (6)
Pavon fails to get up and down from short of the par-3 15th and it leads to his first bogey of the day.
He's back to 4-under par.
Cantlay -4 (8)
Cantlay sails his approach shot out the back door on the par-4 8th and he then compounds the error by chipping back over the other side of the green.
He then stubbed his next chip shot.
To his credit, he holed a 15-footer double.
The American now trails by two from out of nowhere.
Pavon -5 (5*)
Pavon misses a short birdie attempt on the 14th.
It would have seen the Frenchman join Cantlay and Aberg out in front.
He's still in solo third though.
Sit back and enjoy this post-round interview with Tyrrell Hatton.
The Englishman slipped back slightly with a 1-over 71 on Friday, but he's still in the top 10 at 1-under par.
It's a cracker!
Aberg -6 (6), Cantlay (7)
Cantlay finds the heart of the green at the par-4 7th and two-putts for par from around 25 feet.
Aberg then does the same on the tricky par-3 6th.
Cantlay -6 (6)
Cantlay joins Aberg out in front on 6-under par after tucking away a brilliant birdie from 21 feet on the tricky par-3 6th.
Aberg -6 (5)
Aberg buries a 10-footer for birdie at the par-5 5th to move into the outright lead on 6-under par.
Pavon -5 (2*)
It's back-to-back birdies for Pavon, who bursts out the blocks to move into a tie for the lead with Cantlay and Aberg.
Woods +4 (5)
After finding the wildgrass off the tee, Woods was forced to lay up on the par-5 5th.
He then missed right of the green with his approach shot and then took three from the edge.
Woods hands back the shot he just gained on the 4th.
He's still just inside the cut line though.
Patrick Cantlay | -5 (4) |
Ludvig Aberg | -5 (3) |
Bryson DeChambeau | -4 (69) |
Thomas Detry | -4 (67) |
Matthieu Pavon | -4 (1*) |
Rory McIlroy | -3 (72) |
Pavon -4 (1*)
Frenchman Pavon converts for birdie on the par-5 10th.
It's a solid start for the man who sealed his first PGA Tour title in his rookie season at Torrey Pines earlier this year.
Woods +3 (4)
The three-time US Open champ pours home a beautiful 20-footer for birdie on the par-4 4th to move to -1 for the round and to +3 for the tournament.
It leaves Woods just outside the top 50 as it stands and comfortably inside the cut mark.
Aberg -5 (2)
Swedish star Aberg drills home a birdie putt from 30 feet at the long par-4 2nd.
It moves him into a tie for the lead on -5 alongside Cantlay.
The European Ryder Cup hero is making his US Open debut this week.
Detry just three-putted for bogey on his penultimate hole to fall back to -4.
Bryson DeChambeau just spoke to the media after his solid round of 69.
It leaves him at -4 and just one shot off the pace at the moment.
DeChambeau finished solo second at the US PGA last month.
He is looking to win his second US Open title having won it during covid in 2020.
Detry -5 (16*)
Detry looked like he might drop another shot but the Belgian converted his par save from 12 feet.
It keeps him out in a tie for the lead with Cantlay, who is heading down the 2nd.
Detry -5 (15*)
The Belgian wasn't at the summit for long.
Detry pays the price for a wayward approach and finds the greenside bunker.
He can't save par from 12 feet and falls back to a share of the lead.
Fitzpatrick +3, Woods +4, Zalatoris +6 (1)
Woods grabs his wedge and chips to four feet.
That won't be a problem for big cat, will it?
His playing partners also tick off pars.
