Keegan Bradley has revealed he did not know the Netflix cameras were rolling when he declared war on Europe.

Bradley opened up about the viral moment after the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.

The golfer, 38, and his teammates had just secured victory at the 2024 Presidents Cup in Montreal when he delivered the battle cry.

"We are gonna go to Bethpage to kick their f---ing ass," he said after claiming he had been underestimated his whole life.

Bradley said he meant no disrespect to his counterpart, Luke Donald, or any of his vice captains.

"Listen, I was, I thought I was in a locker room with my team," Bradley said.

"You know, that's what happens in a locker room. I meant no disrespect to the Europeans.

"This was a time that we had just won the Presidents Cup, I was in the locker room and it was my turn to address the team.

"And I meant no disrespect, I was more speaking to our guys."

He was asked whether the moment could come back to haunt him as it will likely serve as added motivation for Donald, his staff and players.

"I don't think the Europeans need any more motivation to win the Ryder Cup," Bradley said.

"They're a special group of players and the Ryder Cup means a lot to them.

Bradley said when the Ryder Cup rolls around the Europeans always tend to band together and play their best golf.

"So I think that they're motivated enough to beat us," Bradley said.

Bradley said he was a tad surprised when the footage came out.

"But again, I have to know that in this day and age, especially with cell phones, everything's being recorded," he said.

"But that's who I am. That's me. I'm a pretty excited person. I'm very excited about the Ryder Cup.

"I think my enthusiasm towards the Ryder Cup showed there. It was meant for our team. You know, again no disrespect to the other guys."

While it does seem a tad unlikely given the strength of the U.S. side, Bradley does have an outside chance to qualify outright as a player.

He was asked at the turn of the year whether he would combine the playing role with the captaincy and he reiterated his position.

There is only one way he makes the team.

Bradley said: "I hope I'm either on the team or it's not a decision. Like I said, if I am in the top six I'll play.

"If not, I owe it to the guys to be a captain, although I have some great vice captains that could help that."
