US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has been offered a vice captaincy role within Jim Furyk's Presidents Cup team.

Bradley was named as the shock skipper to succeed Zach Johnson for Team USA in July.

Undoubtedly, the biggest talking point is his age and his lack of leadership experience.

To help him with that, the 38-year-old has been offered a vice captaincy gig within Furyk's Presidents Cup team.

The 2024 Presidents Cup will be played at Royal Melbourne in September.

Confirming the news, Furyk told SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio: "I've always had in the back of my mind to keep a spot open for whoever would be named the Ryder Cup captain.

"Whether that was Tiger Woods or now it's Keegan Bradley, I'll definitely reach out – or maybe I've already had conversations with Keegan – but I definitely want to offer that up to him.

"I think it would be a great experience. Being in the backroom and sitting down with captains is a totally different experience to the playing side."

Bradley has previously stated his desire to qualify for the 2025 Ryder Cup team on merit.

Furyk said: "He's playing very well and is ranked pretty well in the world golf rankings.

"So I know he desperately wants to make this team.

"That's probably first and foremost on his mind as a player but having him as part of the captaincy would be a feather in our cap and would help him for next year."

First Ryder Cup decision made

Earlier in the week, Bradley made his first decision as the skipper

He appointed Webb Simpson as his first vice captain.

Bradley's European counterpart, Luke Donald, has already announced that Thomas Bjorn and stats guru Edoardo 'Dodo' Molinari will reprise their roles for the contest next September at Bethpage Black.

Bradley has told reporters before the 3M Open that he would wait until the season is over before he reaches out to some senior figures to make vice captaincy choices.

He also reiterated that Tiger Woods can be involved.

And he will be picking LIV Golf players if they are in form, he said.

“I've told Tiger that I want him to be as involved as he wants to be," Bradley said.

"We’'e still 14 months out, so we've got a long time.”

Woods was offered the role by the PGA of America but formally rejected the captaincy before the 2024 Open Championship.

The 48-year-old cited his commitments to the PGA Tour and the launch of TGL as reasons why he was unable to do the job.

Woods also did not seem too keen on giving a firm 'yes' or 'no' when asked if he would like to be one of Bradley's vice captains.

"He hasn't asked me," Woods said bluntly in a news conference last week.
