Keegan Bradley's utterly brutal 2023 Ryder Cup rejection takes a new twist
Fresh details have emerged about Keegan Bradley's rejection for the United States side at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, Italy.
We thought we knew all the details about Keegan Bradley's crushing Ryder Cup rejection.
How wrong we were.
Bradley finished last season strong on the PGA Tour by winning the Travelers and ultimately finishing ninth in the FedEx Cup.
He also tasted victory at the ZOZO Championship in Japan and, given his passion for representing his nation, it seemed he just might get a pick.
That prospect seemed all the more likely given some star names, such as Justin Thomas, were really struggling for form.
Bradley previously revealed that the gut-wrenching moment was captured on film by the Netflix cameras.
He thought that, given the cameras were on their way, it was only going to be good news from skipper Zach Johnson.
This is how Bradley previously told the story to Barstool Sports:
But he missed out probably the most brutal part.
The executive producer of Netflix "Full Swing", Chad Mumm, added some more details in a recent interview with Golfweek.
Mumm explained that the crew in fact went to the wrong house when they were on their way to film the call with Bradley.
He told the publication: "I had to call him and be like, 'Is this your address?' and he's like, 'No, it's one house over.'
"We'd been there before, but it just got misprinted on the call sheet."
They got there just in time. You know the rest of the story.
"It's crushing to see," said Mumm. "But he handles it like such a pro.
"To be able to be that vulnerable in that moment but also super-human … I mean, he's awesome. It's so powerful."
Johnson's Ryder Cup side were ultimately defeated by five points in Rome at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Italy.
Netflix "Full Swing" season two debuts on 6 March.
