Collin Morikawa burns Presidents Cup opponent with brutal social media jab
Team USA star Collin Morikawa mocked his International opponent Min Woo Lee on Instagram after defeating him in the opening fourballs at the Presidents Cup.
Collin Morikawa took great pleasure in mocking his International opponent Min Woo Lee on Instagram after defeating him in the opening fourballs at the Presidents Cup.
Morikawa teamed up with fellow Californian Sahith Theegala to defeat Australian duo Lee and Adam Scott in the first-day fourballs at Royal Montreal Golf Club.
The Team USA pairing overturned a one hole deficit on the front nine into a 1up victory, with Theegala landing the sucker punch with a stunning approach shot into two feet for birdie on the 18th.
It marked one of five straight wins for Jim Furyk's side as the stars and stripes whitewashed Mike Weir's Internationals 5-0.
That was the fifth time in Presidents Cup history that a side clean-sweeped one session.
The United States are seeking a 10th straight win at the Presidents Cup.
Morikawa took to Instagram after his match and took aim at Lee, nicknamed The Chef.
Lee's fans chant 'let him cook' when he takes a big swing because the phrase originated from a video game where it's used to encourage someone to do their own thing.

Two-time major champion Morikawa posted six photos of himself and Theegala with the following caption: 'Chef cooked. We ate.'
Ouch!

There was even more needle on the first day of the Presidents Cup between Scottie Scheffler and Tom Kim.
While they are good friends off the course, they are most certainly not on it this week.
Things kicked off on the 7th hole when Kim holed a long birdie putt.
He then gave it large in front of the fans.
Scheffler then followed him in for birdie from a similar line, and the World No.1 turned to Kim and shouted out: 'WHAT WAS THAT, HUH?!'
Even Scheffler's father later admitted he had never seen his son react like that after holing a putt before.
Things escalated further on the next hole when Kim once again dropped a long birdie putt.
Scheffler still had a birdie putt to tie the hole but Kim and his playing partner Sungjae Im then walked over to the 9th tee.
That did not go down well at all.
Commentator Paul McGinley ripped into the International team for their 'bad behaviour' and 'disrespect'.
Apparently the move was led by International assistant Camilo Villegas.
USA assistant Kevin Kisner then took aim at Villegas.
After the match was over, Kim blamed the Internationals' lacklustre start down to a lack of crowd noise.
Morikawa will join Theegala once again for the Friday foursomes.
They will face Scott and Taylor Pendrith.
Lee has been dropped until Saturday.
