Watch: Tom Kim makes birdie after topping (!) tee shot
Rising PGA Tour star Tom Kim made birdie after he topped his opening tee shot in round three of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Rising PGA Tour star Tom Kim demonstrated there is more than one way to make birdie at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The 22-year-old channeled his inner Francesco Molinari to hit the most memorable tee shot of the week at the beginning of round three.
Kim, who was playing alongside Tony Finau and Andrew Novak, hit a stone cold top at Pebble Beach's par-4 opener.
The good news for the South Korean was that his golf ball did in fact clear the tee box and ran out 215 yards down the left side of the fairway.
From there, Kim missed the green left from 167 yards.
No dramas, though, as he holed his chip for a birdie three from 30 feet!
Kim even made birdie at the next hole which, at the time, lifted him into a tie for second place on 12-under at the $20m signature event.
Watch the sequence here:
The aforementioned Molinari did exactly the same thing in the same event four years ago.
Molinari's tee shot barely cleared the tee box though, travelling approximately 70 yards.
Kim will always have one over on the former Open champ, though, as Molinari made a bogey.
Still, he had some fun with what happened after the round by writing on X: "Anyone seen anything interesting today?"
Remind yourself of his shot here:
Stay dry out there today.

Kim rose to prominence with his first Tour victory in 2022 at the Shriners Children's Open.
He successfully defended that title a year later.
Kim has represented the International team twice in the Presidents Cup.
He was involved in a notable exchange with Scottie Scheffler in Montreal last September when he marched off to the next tee box in his match with the American before the World No.1 had holed out.
His behaviour drew an outburst of anger from U.S. assistant Kevin Kisner.
Kim apologised for what happened.
Kisner and Kim are now teammates in Tiger Woods' TGL side Jupiter Links.
