World number one Scottie Scheffler has not committed to the forthcoming Wells Fargo Championship.
According to the official PGA Tour communications team, Scheffler was the only player eligible who did not register for the tournament in time.
The Wells Fargo Championship, held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina over 9-12 May, represents the sixth signature event of the 2023-2024 season.

It has an inflated prize purse of $20,000,000.
Scheffler, 27, and his wife Meredith are due to become parents for the first time any day now.
Golfweek reported earlier in the week the baby had not arrived.
Whether or not Meredith was going to go into labour during the 2024 Masters was a hot topic as the American golfer said repeatedly he would withdraw from the first major of the year without hesitation.
"You only have your first child one," he said.
Whilst Scheffler will not mind missing the Wells Fargo Championship, he will no doubt want the baby to be born in time for him to be in the field at the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
That begins a week after the Wells Fargo Championship.
The next time Scheffler tees it up he will be bidding to win his fifth event from six starts.
He preceded his second Masters victory with a five-shot win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
Scheffler also battled through a neck injury to win the Players.
He stormed to victory at Harbour Town Golf Links a week after slipping on the green jacket for the second time in his career.
