PGA Tour golfer Max Homa reveals latest fill-in caddie after Greller one-off
Max Homa has confirmed former U.S. Ryder Cup assistant captain and on-course broadcaster John Wood will carry his sticks at the Farmers Insurance Open.
PGA Tour star Max Homa has confirmed John Wood will swap his microphone for the golfer's tour bag at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Homa started the new campaign in Hawaii without his regular bag man Joe Greiner.
Jordan Spieth's caddie Michael Greller filled in for one week only.
Ahead of his second event of the season, Homa told Golf Channel that it's 'unfortunate' that Greiner isn't back to work yet.
He did not disclose the reason for his absence but hopes they will be reunited in a couple of weeks.
But he has confirmed that former U.S. Ryder Cup assistant captain turned NBC on-course reporter John Wood will step up to the plate at Torrey Pines.
Wood is an experienced caddie in his own right, having looped for the likes of Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan and Mark Calcavecchia.
"I didn't know Woody too much on the golf course," Homa told GC.
"I was very fortunate to go with Greller the first week and now I have a veteran and an experienced caddie in John.
"I'm thankful and we're going to learn a lot about each other this week.
"We are going to talk about a lot of things that aren't golf."
Homa is playing with new equipment in 2025.
He has signed a multi-year agreement with Cobra Puma Golf to use their clubs and wear their shoes.
Homa was previously with Titleist. He also has a new golf coach in John Scott.

"I haven't quite settled yet," added Homa.
"It's like like life you just gotta ebb and flow and keep on going.
"You gotta be water, you just gotta keep on moving."
He added: "When I put it on paper and say it out load I realise there's a lot going on but it doesn't really feel like it, it's still just golf.
"The white ball has got to get in the hole really fast."
