PGA Tour fans slam Matt Kuchar after baffling decision to return to 18th hole on Monday
Matt Kuchar decided it was too dark to complete the 18th hole and so he will be the only player to return to the Wyndham Championship on Monday morning.
PGA Tour fans have ripped into Matt Kuchar after he elected to be the only player not to finish out his final round at the Wyndham Championship on Sunday night.
Kuchar, 46, made the decision to not play his second shot on the par-4 18th in the final group due to darkness, even though his playing partners Max Greyserman and Chad Ramey went on to play out the hole.
The call means the nine-time PGA Tour winner will have to come back on Monday morning to finish off the 18th hole.
It also means a number of tournament officials, volunteers and event crew will have to come back just for him on Monday as well.

Kuchar's decision to come back on Monday was made even more baffling given the fact he was down in T12 and could not even advance to next week's FedEx Cup Playoffs no matter what score went down on the card.
He simply needed to win the Wyndham Championship in order to advance to next week's FedEx St Jude Championship.
A bogey on the 18th hole would potentially cost Kuchar in the region of $58,000.
Pocket change for a man who is about to slip past the $60m mark in PGA Tour earnings.

Kuchar told Golf Channel's Todd Lewis after walking off the 18th that he made the decision because he felt play should have been called two holes ago on the 16th green.
"We were so far past when we should've stopped playing," said Kuchar.
"We saw what Max did on hole 16, they should've blown the horn there.
"I feel bad, the poor kid should've won this tournament.
"By me not playing, it may show Max he has an important shot to hit."
Kuchar was referring to Greyserman taking four putts from 40 feet on the 16th hole, which led to a double bogey and him losing the lead.
That came two holes after Greyserman made a disastrous quadruple-bogey eight to lose his four-shot advantage on Aaron Rai.

Another bizarre episode to it all was that Kuchar thrashed away at his tee shot down the par-4 18th despite the penultimate group still being ahead in the fairway.
It was a good job Kuchar was errant off the tee otherwise Rai, Cameron Young and Billy Horschel and their caddies would have been in danger of being struck by his golf ball.
Kuchar apparently thought the fairway was clear, but it was not.
He sprayed his tee shot well left into the trees.
As soon as he got down there, he marked up his ball and told a PGA Tour rules official that he had no interest in finishing the hole.
Kuchar was allowed to make that decision as the horn had blown by the time they had teed off the 18th.
But Kuchar's playing partners Greyserman and Ramey decided to carry on and finish out.
Greyserman went on to make a par to finish solo second, while Ramey made a bogey to finish well down the field in T52.
England's Rai landed his maiden PGA Tour title with a two-shot victory over Greyserman, who incredibly threw away a four-shot lead with five holes to play.
Kuchar's decision to come back on Monday to complete his final round left just about everyone shocked and baffled, including those in the CBS Sports commentary box.
As a result of Kuchar's decision, he will be the only player in the field coming back to complete his round on Monday morning.
Lead CBS host Jim Nantz couldn't help himself by saying: "I don't expect we'll be bring you that coverage tomorrow."

Matt Kuchar has just proven he has taken over the PGA TOUR asshole award from Rory Sabatini!

Unreal......
Like the rest of you, I don't understand this Matt Kuchar thing. At all. The entire point of hitting into the leader was to finish the final hole. Then he decides to come back tomorrow? After a weather-havoc week, they got everything in before dark Sunday evening. Except one guy.

matt kuchar, who is T-12 and has no shot of making the playoffs and no shot of winning this tournament, just marked his ball in 18 fairway due to darkness while his group finished & will now come back to play a half-hole ALONE tomorrow.
And Matt Kuchar cements his position as the biggest asshole in golf.

While not in contention, he has chosen to not finish 18 due to darkness. Just him. So tons of staff and crew have to come back for just him to finish half a golf hole.
Oh Kuch, never change. pic.twitter.com/M7V0DEEdsm
Matt Kuchar is not in contention for the tournament title. He cannot qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

He rushed to tee off the 18th hole, hitting into Aaron Rai.
Choosing not to finish the hole and force so many people to get up early tomorrow so he can finish is absurd!
