Olympics Golf Final Round: LIVE leaderboard and updates from Le Golf National in Paris

Welcome to live golf scores, updates and commentary from the final round of the 2024 Men's Olympics Golf Tournament at Le Golf National.

Scottie Scheffler continued his remarkable year by claiming the gold medal in the Olympic men's golf competition in Paris.

Scheffler tore round Le Golf National on Sunday, carding a final round of 9-under 62 to reach 19-under par.

England's Tommy Fleetwood secured the silver medal, finishing on 18-under par.

Hideki Mastuyama took the bronze after he finished one stroke behind the Englishman.

Jon Rahm held a four-shot lead at the summit on the back nine but two bogeys and a double bogey from the Spaniard saw his challenge for the gold medal blow up in smoke.

Rahm finished in a tie for fifth on 15-under with Rory McIlroy.

Home favourite Victor Perez fired a sublime, out-of-nowhere 63 to finish in solo fourth on 16-under.

Nicolai Hojgaard, Tom Kim, Joaquin Niemann, Thomas Detry, Jason Day, Corey Conners and Xander Schauffele also finished inside the top-10.

J. Niemann -4 (8)

A birdie at the 9th hole moves Niemann two shots clear at the top.

The LIV Golf star has made an excellent start to his Olympic campaign.

Dropped shot for Schmid

M. Schmid -2 (8)

Schmid misses a seven-footer for par and has seen his stint at the top of the leaderboard come to a close for now, leaving Joaquin Niemann with the solo lead.

Birdies all round

Scheffler -2, Aberg -1, McIlroy Par (3)

It's birdies all round for the star three-ball of the day.

Scheffler now pulls to within one of the lead.

Schmid has just rolled in a third birdie of the round at the par-4 7th to join Niemann out in front on 3-under par.

Plenty of low scores out there today in very favourable conditions for the players.

Bad start for Rory

McIlroy +1 (2)

Rory McIlroy made a solid par at the 1st but he's just made a bogey on the par-3 2nd to fall to 1-over par.

McIlroy is representing Team Ireland.

While he could have represented Team GB, he decided to choose Ireland because he has always represented them during his amateur days.

Playing partners Scheffler and Aberg both made a par on 2.

Scheffler remains at 1-under par, with Aberg on level.

The World No.1 means business as Scheffler pours home a 25 footer for birdie on the par-4 1st.

Michael Phelps is in the building

Swimming legend Michael Phelps might be the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals, including a record 23 golds, but he is also an avid golf fan.

So much so, he's turned up at Le Golf National to support the players, especially his four American guys Scheffler, Schauffele, Morikawa and Clark.

Clark is the only one of the quartet currently on the course, and the former US Open champion is off to a shocker with a bogey at 1 followed by a double at 2.

The American sits dead last right now.

Eagles galore at 3!

The par-5 3rd is being torn up in the early stages here at Le Golf National.

We've now seen three eagles on this hole in the space of the first hour of play.

After Pan made the first eagle here some five minutes ago, Chile's Joaquin Niemann and Argentina's Alejandro Tosti have both made eagle-threes to move into a tie for the lead on 2-under par.

Niemann is one of seven LIV Golf players participating in the 2024 Olympic Games.

First eagle of the day!

Chinese Taipei's CT Pan makes a stunning eagle at the par-5 3rd.

Pan is best remembered for taking the bronze medal at the 2020 Games, which was played in 2021 due to Covid.

He won his sole PGA Tour title at the 2019 RBC Heritage and famed Hilton Head.

Pan's eagle at the 3rd makes up for his bogey at the 1st and he now moves into an early tie for the lead with Argentina's Emiliano Grillo and Germany's Matti Schmid.

We're off and away!

Welcome to LIVE first round updates of the 2024 Men's Olympic Golf Tournament from Le Golf National in Paris in France.

Home favourite Victor Perez got the tournament underway off the 1st tee.

Perez made par at the par-4 1st but he has just made a bogey on the par-3 2nd.
