Olympics Golf Final Round: LIVE leaderboard and updates from Le Golf National in Paris

Welcome to live golf scores, updates and commentary from the final round of the 2024 Men's Olympics Golf Tournament at Le Golf National.

Scottie Scheffler continued his remarkable year by claiming the gold medal in the Olympic men's golf competition in Paris.

Scheffler tore round Le Golf National on Sunday, carding a final round of 9-under 62 to reach 19-under par.

England's Tommy Fleetwood secured the silver medal, finishing on 18-under par.

Hideki Mastuyama took the bronze after he finished one stroke behind the Englishman.

Jon Rahm held a four-shot lead at the summit on the back nine but two bogeys and a double bogey from the Spaniard saw his challenge for the gold medal blow up in smoke.

Rahm finished in a tie for fifth on 15-under with Rory McIlroy.

Home favourite Victor Perez fired a sublime, out-of-nowhere 63 to finish in solo fourth on 16-under.

Nicolai Hojgaard, Tom Kim, Joaquin Niemann, Thomas Detry, Jason Day, Corey Conners and Xander Schauffele also finished inside the top-10.

GB's Fleetwood on the move

Fleetwood (GB) -4 (14)

It's a fourth birdie in a flawless round so far from Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood.

He's just buried a birdie on the 14th to move to 4-under par, which is just three shots off the pace of Matsuyama right now.

It's not turning into such a great start for GB's second man Matt Fitzpatrick, who is 1-over par thru five.

M. Schmid -6 (14)

Four birdies in five holes on the back nine move Schmid back to the top of the leaderboard with Matsuyama at 6-under. The German is going toe to toe with the 2021 Masters champion, and there's nothing to separate them now.

Red hot start for Valimaki

S. Valimaki -4 (6)

Sami Valimaki is tearing it up on the front nine, having made four birdies in his opening six holes.

Eagle for McIlroy

R. McIlroy -3 (9)

An incredible second shot on the par-5 9th left McIlroy with a makable eagle putt, and he duly delivered.

Trouble for Fitzpatrick at the 1st

Watery start for Jager

It's not the start Stephan Jager would have wanted as he pulls driver on the 1st and launches it straight into the water left of the fairway.

It looked like a risky move, and he certainly paid the price.
