LIV Golf star Jon Rahm 'emotional' over missing PGA Tour events
Jon Rahm has revealed how tough it's been for him to miss out on multiple PGA Tour events that mean a lot to him this season.
Jon Rahm claims it has been "emotional" for him to miss out on multiple PGA Tour events this season as a result of him accepting a big-money move to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League.
Rahm, 29, reportedly accepted a multi-year deal in the region of $600m to join LIV Golf at the end of 2023.
He also got his own LIV Golf team, which he has called Legion XIII.
Rahm then called in his Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton to join the team last week.
Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent also joined.
Legion XIII wasted little time in showing they are a force to be reckoned with this season as they ran out commanding four-shot winners at LIV Golf Mayakoba.
Rahm may have heavily inflated his bank account in recent weeks, but speaking ahead of this week's LIV Golf Las Vegas it would appear Rahm is gutted to miss out on this week's WM Phoenix Open at famed TPC Scottsdale, which is near to where he resides with his family in Arizona.
Now suspended from competing in PGA Tour events as a result of joining LIV Golf, two-time major champion Rahm said:
Rahm also admits he found it hard to miss out on competing at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open last month.
That is because Torrey Pines is where he won his first PGA Tour title in 2017, as well as his first major title at the US Open in 2021.

He also mentioned his disappointment at missing out on competing in The American Express in Palm Springs, a tournament he won twice in 2018 an 2023.
Rahm said:
He will also miss out on his title defence at the Genesis Invitational at famed Riviera next week.
Tiger Woods has confirmed he will make his official PGA Tour return at that event.
While Rahm admitted life on LIV Golf is "definitely different" as he walked off the 18th green at Mayakoba last week, he has confirmed he has no regret over his decision.
