Jokes fly after unflattering image of PGA Tour star Collin Morikawa surfaces in Japan
Golf fans were furiously debating what Collin Morikawa had tucked down his trousers during the PGA Tour's ZOZO Championship in Japan.
Jokes were flying on social media after an unflattering image of Collin Morikawa surfaced during the most recent PGA Tour event in Japan.
Morikawa was at Narashino Country Club last weekend playing the ZOZO Championship.
The American, 27, did not win the event, but he raised eyebrows after Reddit user kensikesuke found what could be described as an embarrassing (?) picture of the golfer.
Golf fans pondered what was in Morikawa's trousers as he lined up this iron shot.
Shall we give Morikawa the benefit of the doubt here?
Take a look here:
It's no surprise Morikawa was at the receiving end of some jokes.
Here's some of our favourites:
"Well it's not his golf ball that's plugged."
"Is that Colon Morikawa?"
"It keeps the ball warm and makes it easier to compress."
"Dealing with worst case of haemorrhoids I have ever seen."
"Free relief?"
Echavarria claims second PGA Tour win
Colombian Nico Echavarria clamed his second Tour win at the ZOZO Championship.
He finished on a total of 20-under par, one ahead of Justin Thomas.
Echavarria took home the top prize of $1,530,000.
Rickie Fowler also posted his best finish on the Tour all year, finishing fourth.
The aforementioned Morikawa finished on 3-under in a tie for 54th.
Justin Thomas returning to form?
As mentioned, Thomas finished second.
He was in the hunt for his first win since lifting the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
Thomas - who played this remarkable shot over water in round three - told reporters he was 'bummed and disappointed' after his latest near miss.
"I played so well," he said.
"I played plenty well enough to win the tournament."
He added: "Everything I've been doing is obviously the right stuff and I'm still going the right direction.
"Just got to keep trying to put myself in contention and right there as often as I can.
"Just kind of hope for a law of averages thing, eventually you end up getting it done, but it's just about putting yourself there more."
