Golf legend Tiger Woods finally acknowledges worst-kept secret about his career
Tiger Woods has confirmed a contract extension with Bridgestone to play their Tour B X golf ball.
Tiger Woods appears to have confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets about his career.
Woods revealed on 20 January that he has agreed a contract extension with Bridgestone.
The brand are Woods' longest-running gear sponsor since the multiple major champion parted ways with Nike at the end of 2023.
Woods is now kitted out in Sun Day Red clothing and footwear after launching the premium apparel company with TaylorMade.
The new deal will see Woods use Bridgestone's Tour B X golf ball for the foreseeable future.
It has not been confirmed how long the contract extension is for.
In announcing the news, Woods confirmed that he used Bridgestone throughout his memorable 2000 season where he won nine times.
Woods fans will remember the golfer played the Nike Tour Accuracy at this point.
But it was widely understood he was using a Bridgestone ball with a swoosh painted on it.
This appears to be the first time Woods has acknowledged this.
"I have played a ball manufactured by Bridgestone since my memorable 2000 season," Woods said in a press release.
"Since the beginning, Bridgestone has continued to innovate and lead the golf ball category in terms of technology, performance, and consistency
"They are great at what they do, and I look forward to continuing to work with their R&D team to design industry-leading golf balls."

Woods initially used the Tour B330 S golf ball when he signed with Bridgestone.
He changed to the Tour B XS ball in 2019 - the year he captured his 15th major title at The Masters - but switched again last year.
Bridgestone have also confirmed fellow staffers Matt Kuchar, Fred Couples, Boo Weekley and Chris Gotterup have extended their deals.
They are also adding England's Harry Hall and Kurt Kitayama to their PGA Tour staff.
When will Tiger Woods play golf again?
Woods had surgery last September and returned to the game at the PNC Championship with his teenage son Charlie.
The duo lost in a playoff to Bernhard Langer and his son.
Woods confirmed then he had no idea when he would play at a competitive level again.
He has already made his debut in TGL and his team, Jupiter Links, were comfortably defeated.
Woods is hosting the Genesis Invitational next month.
The PGA Tour have been forced to move the venue from Riviera Country Club because of the wildfires.
It is understood the signature event will be played at Torrey Pines.
Woods has won eight times at Torrey Pines throughout his illustrious career.
It's extremely unlikely he plays a competitive event until the 2025 Masters.
