Collin Morikawa drops F-bomb on live TV after Hideki Matsuyama breaks PGA Tour record
Collin Morikawa reacted to Hideki Matsuyama's victory with an F-bomb during a live TV interview after coming up short at The Sentry.
Collin Morikawa dropped an F-bomb on live TV in the immediate aftermath of being out-duelled by Hideki Matsuyama at the first PGA Tour event of 2025.
Matsuyama tore round the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii, all week and hit a new record low 72-hole score.
The Japanese golfer finished on a final total of 35-under to beat the record previously held by LIV Golf's 2022 marquee signing Cameron Smith.
Morikawa started the day one behind the former Masters champion but could only laugh as Matsuyama raced out of the blocks and holed out from 107 yards for eagle on the third hole of the day.
From there, he never let up and recorded seven more birdies en route to a final round score of 8-under 65 to beat the American World No.4 by three strokes.
Morikawa told Golf Channel of Matsuyama: "Yeah, excuse my language, but f--- 35-under par is ... that's low!
"I mean, he was matching me yesterday shot for shot, and I felt like I was playing lights out, right?"
Morikawa was alluding to the fact they both shot 11-under par 62s.
He continued: "Like, yes, you could leave some shots out there, but you shoot 11-under on any golf course, you're going to be happy, right?
"Today he just never let up. Then you get to the third hole and the guy holes it.
"I just knew I had to be on top of everything, and just kind of let a few slip on that front nine."

Morikawa told Golf Channel that he would need at least 24 hours to get over his latest near miss.
He was searching for his first Tour victory since the 2023 ZOZO Championship in Japan.
"It's tough to win, and I've seen it over this kind of past year, and like I said, I love being in this position, this is a position you want to be in," he said.
"I want to keep giving myself chances, I know they're going to come, just when Zozo happened you just know if you keep knocking at the door and, you know, we're going to go on a roll pretty soon, it's just hopefully sooner rather than later."
