The Open Championship Final Round LIVE updates as Xander Schauffele wins at Royal Troon

Welcome to live golf scores, updates and commentary from the final round of The Open Championship at Royal Troon.

Xander Schauffele has won his second major of the season at The 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.

Schauffele, 30, carded a flawless final-round 65 on the famed Ayrshire links to seal his second career major in the space of two months.

His 65 marked the low round of the day.

Schauffele finished the week on 9-under par.

The American superstar has now won two of the last three majors.

Schauffele's ninth PGA Tour victory also now sees him replace Rory McIlroy as the second best player in the world.

For the first time since 1982, all four majors have been won by American golfers - Schauffele (US PGA, The Open), Scheffler (The Masters), Bryson DeChambeau (US Open).

Justin Rose birdied the last for a 67 to finish two shots behind Schauffele in a tie for second with Billy Horschel (68).

The Englishman told us he was 'gutted' to come up shy in his bid for his first Claret Jug but that he was also 'super proud' of his efforts.

Thriston Lawrence had grabbed the outright lead heading into the back nine but he could not live with Schauffele's birdie barrage on the back nine.

The South African played the back nine in 1-over par to finish the week in solo fourth on 6-under par.

Schauffele trailed Lawrence by two shots when going out in 34 but he rallied thereafter with four birdies in the space of six holes from the 11th.

And nobody could keep pace with him.

Schauffele's birdie on the tough par-4 11th, where he fired a dart to two feet from the left rough, was the only one there all day.

Elsewhere, Scottie Scheffler duffed his tee shot down the 18th as he slumped to a 71.

The World No.1 finished T7 with LIV Golf's top performer of the week, Jon Rahm.

Lowry sends the crowd wild

Lowry -2, A. Scott -1 (5)

Lowry is a long, long, long way away at the par-3 5th hole.

In fact, shot tracking tell us 56 feet from the pin.

Not that it matters, as his attempt drops.

He bellows: "Come on!"

Scott pays the price by missing the green miles left...

14:54
Burns drops back

Burns -2, Henley -3 (3)

Sam Burns gets into trouble at the third hole.

His tee shot finds the deep fairway bunker and he has to splash out sideways.

And he pays the price, missing from 17 feet for par.

There's huge cheers from the group following Shane Lowry and Adam Scott...

14:50
Par for Horschel

Horschel -5, Lawrence -3 (2)

Horschel gets a line of sight drop after a truly spectacular tee shot.

And it's a great angle!

He gives himself an outside birdie chance but his golf ball rolls out a two feet past.

Horschel fidgets, as he always does, but tucks it away.

Lawrence is closer, and his knees almost buckle as he tries to urge his ball to drop.

Left edge.

Chance missed for Lawrence.

14:45
Here comes Shane Lowry

Lowry -1, Scott -2 (4)

Lowry was in the greenside bunker in two strokes at the par-5 4th hole.

It's not the best chance to make a birdie, in truth, but he is a wizard with a wedge in his hand and splashes out close.

He converts the birdie putt from two feet to get back into the red where he started the day.

Scott makes par.

14:44
Rose misses good chance

Rose -4, Schauffele -3 (3)

Rose hits another beautiful approach into the third hole, but he is perplexed that his birdie putt didn't move.

He expected that to turn at the last minute.

Huge chance gone.

Schauffele settles for a par.

14:41
Nightmare triple for JT

J. Thomas +3 (4)

Justin Thomas began the final round only four back.

But on the first hole he carded a triple bogey, thanks to this tee shot:

14:39
Tidy stuff from Rahm

Rahm -2 (9)

Rahm turns in 4-under 32 and is bang in contention here, courtesy of a solid par at the 9th.

Meanwhile, Billy Horschel has followed an opening birdie with a truly wild tee shot at the second.

He's gone so far left he's almost out of bounds.

He asks: "What's over there?"

Thankfully he's okay and will have a shot.

14:37
What a way to start

Horschel -5, Lawrence -3 (1)

Take a bow, Billy Horschel.

The American rolls in a birdie putt from 23 feet.

He's back out in front and leads by one.

Lawrence scrambles to save par beautifully after coming up short with his approach.

14:35
Scheffler moves to within one

Scheffler -3, Brown -3 (3)

A familiar story from the world number one.

He finds the fairway, then zips one to two feet.

We know his putting, at times, is questionable but he's never missing that one.

14:33
Pars for Henley and Burns

Henley -3, Burns -3 (1)

Safe start from these two.

14:31
So close for Xander, Rose ties for the lead!

Schauffele -3, Rose -4 (2)

Xander misses right with his approach at the second hole.

It's a tricky shot but he almost holes it, his ball burning the right edge.

What can Rose do?

The Englishman fired a dart to seven feet.

And it's in!

Rose ties for the lead

14:28
Rahm misses

Rahm -2, Noren E (8)

Rahm gets through the Postage Stamp unscathed.

But he will be angry about missing a short birdie putt.

That was a huge chance to pull within one and really apply some pressure early on Billy Horschel, who has just teed off and split the fairway.

Noren pulls back to level with a birdie of his own at the signature hole.

14:26
First mistake from Lowry

Lowry E, Scott -2 (3)

Lowry falls back into a tie for 11th with his first bogey of the day at the third hole.

His approach was long of the green and he was always struggling from there.

But his playing partner Scott is feeling it this afternoon.

The former Masters champion grabs his second birdie in the space of three holes with a birdie putt from 14 feet.

14:23
Brown bounces back

Brown -3, Scheffler -2 (2)

Brown makes amends with an opening bogey by rolling in a birdie putt from 10 feet.

Scheffler has an outside chance, but misses.

14:21
Sam Burns and Russell Henley have teed off

The American duo are underway in the penultimate group.

Thriston Lawrence and Billy Horschel will tee off shortly.

14:21
Par start for Justin Rose

Rose -3, Schauffele -3 (1)

Rose came up short with his approach but takes two putts from there.

He's in play at the second, although he was slightly worried his golf ball was going too far right.

Schauffele has an outside look at 23 feet, but settles with a four.

14:18
Solid start from Shane

Lowry -1, Scott -1 (2)

Lowry's head was all over the place when he finished last night.

But he's gathered himself and looks focused this morning.

He saves par from six feet at the second.

Scott also takes a four.

14:16
Rahm is on the warpath

Rahm -2. Noren +1 (7)

Rahm has no problem converting a short putt to move within two of the lead.

This is some golf from the 2023 Masters champion.

14:15
Checking in with Daniel Brown

Brown -2, Scott -1 (2)

Not the start the qualifier wanted with an opening bogey.

The Englishman missed the fairway right and couldn't get up and down from the edge of the green.

His playing partner, however, played the opening hole as well as you could imagine.

Scott split the fairway then sent a dart to seven feet.

Opening birdie.

14:09
Monster drive from Rahm

Rahm -1 (6)

The Spaniard unleashes a monster drive down the 7th fairway.

Prime position for another birdie.

14:06
Justin Rose tees off

Beauty at the first from Rose, who finds the right edge of the fairway .

What can his playing partner Xander Schauffele do?

Find the fairway, of course...

14:04
Rahm par at 6

Rahm -1 (6)

It's another two-putt for Rahm, this time at the par-5 6th.

He remains three back.

13:58
Scheffler is away

Scheffler strides past us to the 1st tee and then splits the opening fairway.

The World No.1 starts two back.

13:56
Scott birdie at 1

Scott -1 (1)

Scott pours home an eight footer at the 1st to move into the red.

A fast start from the Aussie.

So close for Jordan

Jordan Par (1)

Jordan found the bunker with his approach shot but very nearly dunked the splash shot.

A simple par for Jordan.
