WATCH: Jon Rahm hits dreaded hosel rocket in final round of LIV Golf event
Jon Rahm hit a brutal shank during the final round of LIV Golf's second event of 2024 at Las Vegas Country Club.
Jon Rahm has hit a few shanks in his career.
Perhaps his most memorable one came during the 2023 PGA Championship where he decided to take his anger out on a microphone at Oak Hill after finding the hosel.
This one was equally as entertaining. I mean, shanks always are fun to watch, especially when they are hit by the best players in the world.
Rahm is just that. One of, if not, the best player in the world. He is reigning Masters champion and is still capable of this. It gives us all hope.
The scene? During the final round of LIV Golf's second event of 2024 at Las Vegas Country Club.
Rahm was well in the mix going down the stretch and only one back of the leaders at this point.
He was playing his third shot on the par-5 15th and 90 per cent of the time you'd expect Rahm to hit the green.
The 29-year-old had a 5-iron in his hand which made the shot more difficult but still... this was something else.
Rahm knew it straight away and so did Greg Norman who was in the commentary booth.
"That was one of those ugly ones that starts with an S," the Great White Shark said as a dejected Rahm reached for his club that was on the floor.
The broadcast team confirmed Rahm's ball ended up near a spectator's barbecue and, from there, he pulled off a terrific recovery shot.
But then he missed the left-to-right slider for par which just about summed up his day.
Dustin Johnson went on to win his third LIV title as Rahm slumped to a solo eighth finish.
