Phil Mickelson had a rare Sunday off last week.

The LIV Golf season is over, there are no major championships on the horizon and Lefty remains persona non grata on the PGA Tour.

So what did he do?

Well, part of his day included watching his 89-year-old father mow the lawn.

"I should probably go help him," Mickelson said over a 12-second video that was posted on his X account.

"Eh, looks like he's got it under control."

Mickelson has always spoken fondly of his father and the influence he has had on his hall of fame career.

His pops was a former airline pilot and he even owns a pilot's licence.

Mickelson was taught the game by his father and reportedly was hitting golf balls at 18 months old.

Phil Mickelson LIV Golf rumour

Mickelson endured a tough season in 2024.

Perhaps he is about to be defeated by father time?

He missed two major championship cuts (U.S. Open, PGA Championship) and tied for 43rd at The Masters

Mickelson also finished T60 at The Open at Royal Troon.

On LIV, he finished 46th in the individual standings and his HyFlyers quartet placed 12th out of 13 teams.

Still, it appears as though Mickelson has no plans to retire just yet.

And according to FlushingIt, Mickelson will have the same HyFlyers roster of Brendan Steele, Cameron Tringale and Andy Ogletree.

There are unsubstantiated reports LIV are thinking of adding a new team to the league for 2025, opening up the possibility for more defections.

Mickelson claimed before LIV's Team Championship in Dallas that more players will be making the switch soon.

But he refused to say more.

Elsewhere, LIV have confirmed all the details for their Promotions in December.

The 72-hole shootout will offer one golfer a spot in LIV next year.
