Jon Rahm silences his doubters as he surges into LIV Golf Greenbrier lead
Jon Rahm plays his final 10 holes in 8-under par to surge into a two-shot lead at LIV Golf Greenbrier.
If Jon Rahm is unhappy on LIV Golf then he has a funny way of showing it right now.
LIV Golf's reported $600m man Rahm, 29, silenced his critics by surging into the lead in the second round at LIV Golf Greenbrier.
Rahm played his final 10 holes in an incredible 8-under par, highlighted by a stunning eagle on the par-5 17th where he sent a 3-wood from just shy of 300 yards to four feet.
It all added up to an 8-under 62 to vault Rahm to 14-under par and two shots clear of Brooks Koepka, Talor Gooch, Lucas Herbert and Richard Bland.
Rahm's opening 64-62 at LIV Golf Greenbrier comes in a week where a Golf Digest article claimed the two-time major champion was having deep regret at having joined LIV Golf.
LIV Golf's social media was loving every bit of Rahm's blistering round of 62 as they tweeted: 'No regrets for Rahmbo'.
When pressed for comment about the Golf Digest article, Rahm could only stifle a laugh.

"Yeah that's why I can't stop smiling out here," said Rahm of the Golf Digest article.
"They just make sh*t up.
"Couldn't be further from the truth."
Rahm is now looking to win back-to-back tournaments on LIV Golf having captured his maiden title on the circuit at LIV Golf UK last month.
Should he go on to win LIV Golf Greenbrier on Sunday, he will become the first player to win consecutive individual titles on the circuit since Gooch in April 2023.
Rahm will also be looking to gain some consolation from having thrown away an Olympic medal in his last tournament at Le Golf National earlier this month.
The Spaniard had a four-shot lead heading into the back nine in Paris but didn't even end up on the podium after a back-nine collapse.
A victory at Greenbrier will also see Rahm move to the top of LIV Golf's individual championship.

LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman addressed speculation that Rahm was at all unhappy on the circuit during the second round broadcast at Greenbrier.
In the eyes of Norman, it's total nonsense.
Norman said during the second round broadcast of LIV Golf Greenbrier: "I read an article yesterday about how Jon is so unhappy here [LIV Golf] and that he wants to give back his money. It's just not true. You speak to Jon's general manager, it's like laughable. I just truly don't get it. I truly don't get the divide.
"The division is still there when we are actually showing how we do work within the ecosystem and how the ecosystem is accepting us and how the people are speaking out there. I just don't understand why it is this way. It tells you there is some deep seeded something there, but we are going to keep ploughing through it and stay true to ourselves."
