Bryson DeChambeau was ready to play a shot during the final round of LIV Golf Andalucia when a fan's hat blew onto the fairway at Valderrama.
Bryson DeChambeau's popularity has soared this year and it's easy to see why when you consider his reaction to being interrupted before a shot during the opening round of LIV Golf Andalucia.
The golfer was playing in his final event on the breakaway tour before heading to Scotland for the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
It's clear DeChambeau is still riding the crest of a wave after capturing his second major championship at Pinehurst No.2 last month.
Just as he was getting ready to play a chip shot at the treacherously difficult Valderrama, a fan's hat blew onto the fairway and interrupted his backswing.
Perhaps during his PGA Tour days DeChambeau's reaction would've been different.
But on this occasion, he decided to put the hat on and get a verdict from his caddie Greg Bodine before handing it back to a LIV official to track down the spectator who had lost it.
The moment drew laughter from the crowd.
"I don't like LIV or what it stands for but this is kinda cool," one X user wrote.
Is DeChambeau's behaviour authentic?
DeChambeau's behaviour on the course in 2024 is a stark contrast to his PGA Tour days.
The American, at times, rubbed fans and even his fellow competitors the wrong way.
There were occasions where some felt he didn't shout fore and played too slowly.
We certainly wouldn't have seen the golfer routinely sign autographs for fans on each hole during a competition.
DeChambeau was probed on this topic after he triumphed at the 2024 US Open.
He claimed he's now trying to be the person he wants to be after a tumultuous few years off the course.
DeChambeau has admitted he questioned himself after battling a serious injuries to his wrist and hip.
To make matters worse, his father Jon died aged 63 in November 2022.
But he will head to Royal Troon as one of the favourites.
"From my perspective, I'm just passionate," DeChambeau previously said.
"I really care about doing well out here and showing the fans a side of me that was locked up for so long."
