Martin Kaymer has hammered members of the DP World Tour for the way they have treated him differently since he decided to join LIV Golf in 2022, following an interview with Golf Digest

Kaymer, 39, won 11 times on the DP World Tour highlighted by two major victories at the 2010 U.S. PGA and 2014 U.S. Open.

The German was a number of star names to join the Saudi-bankrolled league in the summer of 2022.

A year later Kaymer joined a select group of European Ryder Cup legends to terminate their membership of the DP World Tour after losing their appeals against fines for having joined LIV Golf.

Kaymer, who holed the winning Ryder Cup putt at the 'Miracle at Medinah' in 2012, has revealed in an interview with Golf Digest that he misses very few people on the DP World Tour as a result of their change in tone towards him when he joined LIV Golf

"I wish everyone had treated each other in a respectful way back then," said Kaymer.

"Had that happened, I would have missed a few people on the DP World Tour. But after the way we were treated, I soon discovered that most of the relationships I had were based on superficial stuff. I have found out who my friends really are.

"I have had to listen to players who are on the board of the European Tour bad mouth me. They have talked so much crap about certain things. I have to laugh, especially as I saw them talking to LIV. They wanted to be here themselves. So while I respect them as players, do I miss them as people? Not really."

Kaymer also added how he found one DP World Tour's player's views about his move to LIV Golf as 'ridiculous'.

He claimed the player's words were 'aggessive' towards him.

"Another player who is on the DP World Tour board said some things to me after the 2022 BMW International Open," added Kaymer.

"Right after that event, he told me that, had he been me he would have taken the LIV contract and told everyone he wasn't ever going to play on the DP World Tour again. He said it was wrong for me to be there in Germany and play.

"I found his view ridiculous, especially when I later saw him walking into a house in Florida to speak to Greg Norman. I mean, come on. It's a joke. He thought I shouldn't be able to play in my own country, in an event I have won and in front of people who want me to be there. That was his position. And he did it in such an aggressive way. I mean, why did he event care? It's my career."

Kaymer is the captain of LIV Golf team Cleeks GC.

Richard Bland and Adrian Meronk are also on Kaymer's team.

Kalle Samooja also was in 2024 but he got relegated from the LIV Golf League at the end of the season.

Kaymer is currently on the lookout for a replacement.

It was a dismal season for Kaymer as he slumped to 40th position in the individual standings.

He notched just one top-10 finish all season.

That came at LIV Houston (T9) in June.

LIV Golf heads into its fourth season in operation in 2025.

Greg Norman has confirmed he will be replaced as LIV Golf CEO next season.
