FootJoy Pro SL Golf Shoe - Looks
If you want a classic pair of premium spikeless golf shoes, then you will want to check out the Pro SL. If you want something a little more sporty in the FJ shoe range, then we recommend you look at something like the FootJoy Fuel.
Although the design of the Pro SL is completely white, Alex was impressed at how easy it was to remove mud and dirt from the surface.
This is a significant selling point for golfers looking for a new pair of shoes.
FootJoy has also seemingly tidied the upper of this shoe, giving it that really nice versatile feel and look about it.
You can also purchase this shoe with a very cool BOA Lace System, which you can see from the image below.
This is a little dial on the back of the shoe that gives you a precise fit.
The rest of this shoe in terms of looks, is pretty similar to the previous generation of Pro SL.
But why massively change the appearance when it's already first class, right?
FootJoy Pro SL Golf Shoes - Comfort and Performance
As we just mentioned about BOA, we would highly recommend taking full advantage of that in the Pro SL.
Having used BOA plenty of times before, it really does provide you with a more precise and snug fit, which let's face is pretty important on the course. BOA offers you complete comfort on the top part of the shoe.
One of the key features of the Pro SL golf shoe is its ChromoSkin leather by Pittards, which has been constructed with Tour-proven traction in all weather conditions.
Alex noted immediate comfort straight out the box.
The ChromoSkin leather also gives you one very durable spikeless golf shoe.
Alex believes this is one of the most, if not the most durable spikeless golf shoe he has ever worn on the golf course.
With that in mind, you could argue the price tag looks very fair indeed. These are golf shoes that are going to give you plenty of game time.
The leather is also 100% waterproof, giving you piece of mind that you can wear these spikeless shoes in all types of weather and course conditions.
A friendly StratoFoam midsole is packed inside this shoe too, which Alex comments aids to the comfort and feel you immediately receive when slipping these on.
For a spikeless golf shoe, the grip is also fantastic with 100 nice blue lugs giving you plenty of stability and traction on all shots.
Comfortable, stable, flexible where you need it and 100% waterproof, the Pro SL really does offer it all in a traditional looking package.
Should you buy the FootJoy Pro SL golf shoes?
Absolutely, these are right up there as one of the best spikeless golf shoes on the market right now.
The price will cost you a little more for BOA Lacing (£184.99), but we would honestly recommend it, or at least check it out and see how you feel. BOA just aids a much more precise and snug fit as we say.
Add in the comfortable StratoFoam midsole and 100% waterproof ChromoSkin leather, among other key features that provide this shoe with a stable and grippy feel, and you easily have one of the best all-round performing shoes on the market today.
If you don't quite fancy stumping up the cash for the latest Pro SL version, we would recommend you pick up one of the previous generations of the shoe online as the price for those will be nearer the £100 mark. After all, you could argue there are minimal improvements.
Nevertheless, we would recommend these latest Pro SL golf shoes for golfers of any ability. Golf beginners might want to take a look at something a little cheaper though, and spend the extra money on some lessons for now.
