Full Biography

Ángel Cabrera is an Argentine professional golfer.

Born on September 12, 1969, in Córdoba, Argentina, he turned professional in 1989.

Cabrera has played on both the European Tour and the PGA Tour.

Cabrera's most notable accomplishments include winning two major championships: the U.S. Open in 2007 and the Masters Tournament in 2009.

His victory at the U.S. Open came at Oakmont Country Club, where he edged out Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk.

In the 2009 Masters, Cabrera secured the green jacket by defeating Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry in a sudden-death playoff, becoming the first Argentine and South American to win the Masters.

In 2021, Cabrera faced legal issues, resulting in a two-year imprisonment for assaulting and threatening two former partners. He was released in August 2023.

Following his release, Cabrera returned to professional golf, and in April 2025, he won the inaugural James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational on the PGA Tour Champions, marking his first tour-sanctioned victory more than a decade.

Cabrera married Yamila Alvarez in October 2023. Their son, Felipe, was born in November 2022.
