Venus and Serena Williams announced as new OWNERS of a golf team!
Tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams were announced as the new owners of a golf team on Thursday.
Two of the greatest tennis players of all time have become the first joint owners of a team in Tiger Woods' TGL.
Serena Williams, 41, recently retired from professional tennis after achieving an incredible 73 singles titles throughout her career on the WTA Tour.
Her sister, Venus Williams, 42, had her own impressive tennis career, earning 49 of her own singles titles, as well.
On Thursday, the pair of tennis legends, along with Alexis Ohanian - who created Reddit - were announced as the new joint owners of the first team in the new golf league: TGL.
Ohanian, who also founded the company Seven Seven Six, is also the principal owner and founding investor of Angel City FC, the NWSL's LA-based team.
Now the Williams sisters and Ohanian will all be the owners of the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), the first team revealed in TGL.

TGL is the new golf league launched Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's company TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA Tour.
The first season is set to launch January 2024.
"We’re honored to welcome Alexis, Serena, and Venus as one of TGL’s original six team ownership groups,” said TGL CEO Mike McCarley, in the announcement's release Thursday.
He added:
In addition to Woods and McIlroy, PGA Tour stars like Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, and Max Homa are among those who've committed to the TGL.
